Episode 346
The DVIS™ at Year Five
Isaiah 60 (KJV) Zechariah 4 (KJV) Matthew 13 (KJV)

DDVIS™ 61.7 at Year Five from a baseline of 14. 41% of members in documented Kingdom roles across seven spheres of public life. The market traders protected by the advocacy team. The foodbank partnership serving 340 families monthly. The choir album generating a cultural fund financing two further creative projects. The young man outside the chicken shop who said that is not what I thought church was — and who now attends not because we ran a better programme but because the church became impossible to ignore. The DVIS™ is not a performance metric. It is a fruit report on a church that was formed into an embassy.

ATTENTION READERS:

The Deployment and Vocational Impact Score™ (DVIS™) is a proprietary framework instrument of Heal the World Network. It is introduced in The Embassy, the eighth novel of the twelve-volume Heal the World series, which develops the 12 Pillars Kingdom Framework for Global Redemption. The novel corresponds to Pillar 8 — Church Renewal & Kingdom Equipping. Visit www.healtheworldnetwork.global and browse the Bookshelf for a copy.

Zechariah 4 Who dares despise the day of small things — the DVIS rises through accumulation
Matthew 13 The yeast worked all through the dough — invisible persistent total

"Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee."

Isaiah 60:1 (KJV)

⚡ This Week's Action

Today tell one person outside your church one specific thing your church has done for your neighbourhood. Let the neighbourhood begin to know the embassy is there.

The Church That Becomes Impossible to Ignore Is Not Running Better Programmes

The DVIS™ rise at Covenant Life did not come from a strategic planning process or a programme redesign. It came from a theological reorientation that changed what the church understood itself to be for. The market traders were not a community engagement initiative. They were the church doing what an embassy does — representing Kingdom interests to people in the neighbourhood who were being exploited. The foodbank was not a service provision programme. It was the church being the presence of God in a specific form of need.

  • Churches running external engagement programmes without the theological reorientation that would make them sustainable
  • Community engagement treated as an add-on to the real ministry rather than an expression of it
  • The young man outside the chicken shop still thinking that church is not for him because the church he has seen has not yet become impossible to ignore

Zechariah 4:10: Who dares despise the day of small things? The DVIS™ at Year One was 14. The DVIS™ at Year Five was 61.7. The movement happened through small things: one advocacy meeting one foodbank delivery one vocational consecration service one conversation. Do not despise the day of small things.

🌐 World's View

The world measures institutional success by scale visibility and speed of impact.

✝️ God's View

God builds the embassy church through the accumulation of small faithful presences — each one making the church slightly more impossible to ignore in the neighbourhood it inhabits.

Matthew 13:33: The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds of flour until it worked all through the dough. The yeast does not announce itself. It works. The embassy church works in its neighbourhood until the neighbourhood cannot imagine what the street would be like without it.

⚖️
Morality
The market traders were not an engagement initiative — they were being exploited, and the church represented their interests. Advocacy that costs the church something is the difference between moral witness and moral branding
💚
Health
340 families served monthly through the foodbank partnership. A church embedded in its neighbourhood addresses the material conditions of wellbeing directly — and members deployed across seven spheres carry purpose rather than the passivity of attendance
💰
Finances
The choir album generated a cultural fund now financing two further projects. Deployment produces resources rather than only consuming them — an embassy church builds capacity in its neighbourhood while building it in itself
🌿
Accumulation
DVIS™ 14 to 61.7 across five years, 41% of members in documented Kingdom roles. The movement came through small things: one advocacy meeting, one foodbank delivery, one vocational consecration, one conversation. Who dares despise the day of small things?
🌍
Global Impact
That is not what I thought church was.' Every congregation that becomes impossible to ignore in its own neighbourhood changes what the word church means to the people who had written it off — and that reframing travels further than any programme
Tap each step to mark complete
Identify one specific way your church has become more present in its neighbourhood in the past year
Celebrate that movement — name it thank God for it and tell the congregation what it represents
Identify one more specific presence your church could establish this year
Pray Isaiah 60:1 as a corporate covenant: arise shine — let the neighbourhood be unable to ignore us
Tell one non-church member in your neighbourhood one specific thing your church has done for the community
🙏 Today's Prayer

"Lord let our church become impossible to ignore — not through prominence but through presence not through programmes but through genuine costly investment in the neighbourhood You have placed us in. In Jesus' name Amen."

✦ 10. Call to Salvation ✦

Someone once looked at the Church and decided it was not for him — and then saw something that changed his mind. Not a better programme. A presence he could not explain away. JESUS CHRIST is that presence, and He is not waiting for you to feel qualified. Come to Him today, and find that the kingdom had a place for you all along
